Learning Style ProfileA Self-Portrait™ Online Learning Style Profile (Individuals) As educators, we are always looking for tools and strategies that can help inform our teaching practices and/or support greater student success. The Self-Portrait™ Online Learning Style Profile does both. Unlike many learning style profiles which simply assess a student's preferred modality (auditory, visual, tactile-kinestetic), this assessment examines and reports on five key areas--Disposition, Talents, Interests, Modality, and Environment--providing a much richer understanding of the learning preferences of students. Developed by the authors of “Discover Your Child’s Learning Style,” Mariaemma Willis & Victoria Kindle Hodson of the LearningSuccess™ Institute of Ventura California, this online assessment is currently being used in schools and Districts across North America. Suitable for students in Grades 3-12, it can be taken in as little as twenty minutes, and allows the printing of individual results, as well as class summaries--a very useful tool for classroom teachers. This assessment is also perfect for educators and parents to take, allowing them to become aware of their own learning biases. Profiles purchased by individuals cost $25-$35 each. However, volume discounts are available to schools, Boards, and other organization, which can lower the cost to as little as $0.50 per profile. Interested in learning more? ThriveTime Board GameLooking for an engaging way to help your students build their financial literacy skills in the classroom? Youth Coach Canada, is proud to be a Canadian distributor of this AMAZING game--ThriveTime for Teens! In this reality game, teens start in high school and have part time jobs. They will be faced with money and life decisions like buying cars, managing expenses, giving back to their community, paying for college, using credit cards, buying stocks and starting businesses. The winner is the teen that not only generates income and makes positive financial decisions, but also effectively manages their time and does good for those around them. Teaching students how to manage their money properly is an important skill--and Thrive Time helps do exactly that! Kids are placed in real-life situations, asked real-life questions and have a chance to see how the decisions they make affect their futures. And the best part is - this is a game - so any poor choices won't cripple them - unlike a poor decision in the real world. Thrive Time is fun to play, durable, functional and absolutely original! |
